With over 25 years’ in mining and heavy industry, David has become an accomplished Executive with both domestic and international experience across operations and business development.
Starting his working life as a Mechanical Engineer he progressed to leading large scale operations across multiple sites, his career has spanned the likes of WMC, BHP, Sibelco and Holcim taking him to major domestic and international cities through to regional remote locations throughout Australia.
David is passionate about building business and leading teams through times of change and growth and has a strong focus on safety and sustainable business as a result of his own personal experience within the industry.
Strategic planning and delivering on corporate, operational and environmental goals along with the health and safety of the South Queensland Lime team, lies at the forefront of David’s operational and leadership approach.
David currently sits as Chairman of the Institute of Quarries Qld branch, along with Industry body safety and environmental committees and has previously sat on the industry reference committee for trades and technical training for the federal government. In previous roles, has worked closely with numerous government departments to achieve positive outcomes for organisations and communities and industry.
He has presented numerous papers on topics ranging from safety and environment through to community and indigenous engagement and operational performance, in a variety of forums, conferences and seminars across Australia and online.
With David’s wealth of experience and knowledge his focus is to lead South Queensland Lime to being a supplier of choice and to be recognised as consistent and dependable by our customers, shareholders and employees.
